Who files the return
Every tier prepares your CBAM return and the audit pack behind it. Oportax does not submit the return to HMRC on your behalf — you or your customs agent submit it. Managed filing is on the roadmap for 2027.

How savings work
HMRC's default emissions values will be global averages. If your suppliers are cleaner than the global average, the default overcharges you, and verified supplier data is the only way to prove it. The arithmetic is: tonnage × the emissions difference between your suppliers and the default × the CBAM rate (not yet published — we assume £35–£55/tCO₂e after the free-allocation adjustment). We assert no outcome: use the calculator with your own supplier assumption, or book a call for a figure grounded in your data.

Can I upgrade or downgrade later?
Yes — tier changes apply at next renewal. Contact us to discuss mid-term changes.
What if my saving is less than the subscription cost?
We'll be honest with you. Use our calculator or book a call — if the projected saving doesn't significantly exceed the subscription cost, we'll tell you upfront, recommend the right tier, or suggest CBAMcheck (free) is enough for your situation.
Do you offer enterprise pricing?
For multi-entity, 200+ suppliers, board sign-off pack — pricing is custom. Talk to us.
Are there hidden fees?
No. The subscription includes everything listed in your tier. No per-import, per-supplier, or per-return charges within your tier's caps.
Do you offer a free trial?
We don't offer free trials — but we offer a 14-day satisfaction guarantee. If Oportax isn't right for you, cancel within 14 days for a full refund.
